who want to share experiences, real estate investing information and advice,
and opinions buying, selling, improving, and leasing properties.
When replying to messages posted to the group(s), take into consideration
the conversation that is taking place. Don't be afraid to double check the

Consider each person's background before you take any offense at what he or
she is saying. Some people are reserved, others are effusive. Some people are
blunt, others are shy.
I created COREIO.net so that we could all learn from, lean on, and
encourage each other. In order for this group to be successful, we need to
treat fellow members the way we ourselves want to be treated.

What is the COREIO mail list about?
The COREIO mail list is about real estate investing issues, concentrating
on the Cleveland and Akron areas. We are a close-knit community of investors
supporting each other by sharing tips, resources, experience, opinions and
insights on investing-related subjects. Topics range from finding investment
properties to financing to dealing with tenants to tax rules to cashing out.
We discuss what works for our investing careers and what doesn't. Our mail
list focuses on investing issues and does not focus on personal discussions.
No matter what your experience level, there will be questions to ask and
answer, new things to learn and explain, ideas and triumphs to share. Please
take a few minutes to introduce yourself so that we may get to know you
better.
What are the mail list rules for the COREIO discussion group?
This is the most important information you need if you wish to *remain* on
this email list! Please reread your posts prior to sending.
1. Absolutely no flaming or profanity. Flaming is when you berate,
belittle, be mean to, or otherwise be hateful to another member. Malicious
intent is not welcome here. You may *never* discipline another member on-list.
Contact a list moderator if you have a problem with a member. You are all
valuable to this list and we won't see a member "run off" by another member.
When replying to a list mail, you must conduct yourself professionally and
with respect.
2. No advertising or posting your prices. Unless a topic arises which
specifically addresses your area of business, you may not promote your
services. The only place our members are permitted to advertise on the list is
in your signature file. (please also see number 8 below) If your email is
presenting or asking for a sale from the members, it is an ad. Resellers,
affiliates, employees and staff members are not permitted to solicit for any
company they are affiliated with or work for.
Places you CAN advertise:
- You may purchase ad space on the COREIO.net website.
- You may join the coreio-prop-swap discussion list to advertise your
properties for sale/lease/etc.
3. All subjects on the list are to pertain to real estate investing. We ask
that all members remain professional in tone and manner. If in doubt, email a
moderator and ask before posting.
4. DO NOT SCREAM IN YOUR POSTS. SCREAMING IS WHEN YOU TYPE IN ALL CAPS LIKE
THIS FOR LONGER THAN NECESSARY. Please only relegate screaming for when you
have accomplished something extraordinary and you just need to share your
excitement with the list. Don’t use it in every day conversation.
5. Do NOT send newsletters OR press releases OR articles to the list!
Written permission from the author is required to copy someone else's
material. If you have a great newsletter that you’d like to share, send a note
to the list letting us know that you have it and that they can reply to you
off-list to get a copy, or send us a link to the article’s location.
6. The following subjects are BANNED from this list:
- Political issues or subjects, except those that are relevant to real
estate investing.
- Religious issues or subjects.
- Pornography or sexually explicit subjects.
- Forwarded jokes: They may offend more people than you realize.
- Daily motivations or thoughts for the day: While you may find value in
these, many other members who have come here strictly for professional
guidance simply see it as more junk mail.
- Chain letters.
7. Use your subject line properly. This helps us weed out the emails that
don't pertain to us. If your email is off-topic, then please note that in the
subject line by using the letters OT.
8. Signature files may be no longer than 8 lines total. This is the space
from your name at the bottom of an email to the very end of the email. You may
have advertising IN YOUR SIGNATURE file only. Your advertising may include
prices or discounts. This is your "free space" but it is NOT to exceed 8
lines.
Up to 8 lines of text (blank lines count as a line)
Up to 65 characters wide (spaces count as characters)
If you need help setting up a signature file, please ask a moderator.
9. Install and regularly update antivirus software to protect yourself and
the other list members from computer viruses. If you don’t already have
antivirus software, you can download a very good free version from
www.grisoft.com.
10. The rules of *this* list must be followed even when cross-posting to
other lists at the same time. While we recognize and understand that our
members may belong to several mailing list and groups, our list rules must be
followed even if you are cross-posting elsewhere.

Guidelines for posting an offer to the COREIO-Prop-Swap List:
1. All regular COREIO list rules apply with the exception that the purpose
of this list is to advertise investment properties for sale, rent, lease
option, etc. You may list prices and special offers freely. Our regular list
rules are located at http://www.coreio.net/rules.htm.
2. Please make sure your offer pertains only to property transactions. This
isn't a general advertising list... it is not intended for offers from service
providers such as real estate agents, contractors, mortgage consultants, etc.
If there is sufficient demand for those types of services, we will consider
offering that as a separate discussion list.
3. Please do not abuse the list by posting the same offer more than once a
week. Doing so will be considered spamming and will result in your account
being placed on moderation. (“Moderation” means that a group moderator will
review and approve each of your posts before they are allowed to be sent to
the list as a whole.)
4. Provide as many details about your offer as possible, while keeping it
relatively easy to understand. Pertinent facts such as property address,
number of units, number of bedrooms, condition of the property, annual taxes,
etc. should be included so that members can make an informed decision about
contacting you directly to make further inquiries.
5. Subscription to the COREIO-Prop-Swap email list is necessary if you want
to "receive" offers from other members OR if you want to "make" offers to
other members. If you are already a member of COREIO.net, you may subscribe
to COREIO-Prop-Swap by clicking on the link below.
